Close Quarter Combat LLC, provides top tier self-defense training in Hattiesburg, MS.  Our mission is to provide useful, practical and realistic training to anyone with a desire to learn how to protect themselves. Our training is not for the faint of heart, but if you stick with it, you will prevail in that hour when you need training the most.


At CQC Self-Defense, we teach street applicable self-defense using:

CQC Self-Defense teaches based on simple principles and instinctive movements. Our reality-based system is designed to teach extremely effective self-defense in the shortest possible time. Course of Instruction Levels


Level 1


This entry-level class is designed for all new students. The goal of the class is to teach the basics of self-defense and fighting. Students will learn the fighting stance and movement, various punches, kicks from standing position as well as from on the ground, elbows and knees, and how to defend against punches, chokes, headlocks and wrist grabs. Students who train an average of two to three times per week should expect to complete the curriculum in four months before testing for Level 2.


Level 2 


In this intermediate level class, students will continue to review and hone the skills learned in Level 1, as well as learn additional punches and kicks, punch defenses with counterattacks, kick defenses, and defenses against various chokes, headlocks, and bear-hugs. Technical elements such as distance, timing, and alternative targeting are introduced in this level.  Students who train an average of two to three times per week should expect to complete the curriculum for this level in six months before testing for Level 3.


Level 3 


This intermediate class sharpens the basic techniques and allows students to expand their knowledge of attacks and defenses. In Level 3 students will continue to train on strikes, defenses against strikes, and self-defense, including more advanced techniques that involve defending against weapons such as guns and sticks. Students who train two to three times per week should expect to be eligible to test for Level 4 in nine months.


Level 4 


This class was designed specifically for more advanced students interested broadening their skill sets. In addition to the tactics and techniques learned in previous levels, students will encounter higher threat weapon defenses, deal with attacks from multiple opponents, and learn more advanced ground fighting skills. Students who train two to three times per week should expect to be eligible to test for Level 5 in twelve months.


Level 5 


This class is for advanced students only and covers all of the advanced curricula including fighting, ground fighting, advanced self-defense, all weapons defenses, and more. This self-defense course is comprised of some of our more skilled fighters. 


Close Quarter Combat L.L.C. provides highly effective personal defense training and education to South Mississippi. We are NOT an MMA school, karate dojo or other sports oriented training provider. Our training in centered around the use of realistic attack simulations, drills, and techniques designed to prepare individuals and organizations with the physical and mental skills necessary to defeat the types of violence encountered in the world today. Ways to Train 
Personal Training

We offer one-on-one intensive training for those serious about perfecting their skills. Use personal sessions for a fitness oriented workout or to perfect that one area you are having difficulty in. Personal training is a way to get the individualized attention that y want for more rapid learning of something discussed in our group sessions. 

Group Training


Group training is a great way to jump right into the environment of our training. The group setting offers the opportunity for creating great relationships with like-minded individuals. These sessions tend to be fast-paced and offer a great workout while you learn valuable self-defense skills. Group training is valuable because you will have the opportunity to try out the skills you learn on other individuals of differing sizes. 

Self Defense seminar


Seminars provide training opportunities for people whom traditional weekly training is not possible. Seminars are a great way to expose a group of people to our training and materials. Seminars can be set up for beginner, intermediate and advanced students who want extra time outside of our regularly scheduled class times.
